Culture Bubbles 063 - moonpie

There's debate, over whether that's Scott's daughter singing normally, or if it was Edouard himself singing slow. However, that wouldn't make sense if his stated aim was to invent a machine to replace the practice of shorthand notation (systems of which Scott was an expert on). Another however: we know that Edouard-Leon Scott had previously made a phonautogram one of his daughters, back in 1857. I believe this clip is his daughter, and a similar recording made 11 days later (on April 20th 1860) may be an attempt to record himself, for comparison to the etching made on April 9th 1860.
