This Friday night come to WAYO's 2nd Anniversary Party at The Bug Jar!

The Party Starts at 8 and goes all night!

In 2017 WAYO has continued to pick up steam and establish itself as a hub for Rochester's arts and cultural community. Please join us this Friday, January 19th to celebrate WAYO’s two year radio broadcast anniversary!

The WAYO programmers, volunteers and staff have worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone so let’s get together and munch on some pizza, listen to some music, dance our WAYOs off and enjoy each other’s company.

WAYO is funded through 2018. Thank You!

We cannot thank you enough for your support and your belief that WAYO deserves to continue on the Rochester airwaves. Because of the generosity of our listeners and the hard work of our programmers and volunteers, we are ecstatic to announce that we have raised over $21,861, blowing away our $20,000 goal and ensuring the future of the station for the next year. These funds will allow us to pay our operating costs as well as maintain our studio equipment. We'll also be making a few upgrades to our production studio and expand our presence at events around the city.

All-Day Fundraiser Finale Party on Friday the 3rd!

To celebrate the final day of our fundraising campaign, WAYO is throwing an all-day listener party on Friday, November 3rd! Starting at 11 am and running to midnight, our doors will be open for behind the scenes tours, food and drink, and portraits with the WAYO boom box. And, of course, in person donations if you haven’t already donated at https://donate.wayofm.org! With a donation the size of the cost of a coup of coffee a month, you can make a huge impact on WAYO’s bottom line and get great perks.

We're Funded! Thank You! Final Total and Next Steps

Well, it's been a few days since the campaign ended and we here at WAYO are just now catching our breath. As you know, with your help we hit our funding goal and then some with a final tally of $17,702! That's an impressive amount that will keep WAYO operating for the remainder of 2017 AND give us the option of investing in some additional equipment this year. So, from all of us at the station, a resounding THANK YOU!!

75% Funded, Stretch Goals, and Anniversary Concert!

Stretch Goals

Wowee!! Thanks to your help, we are now 75% funded with just 6 days left in our campaign. If we can keep this pace up, we'll reach our $16,000 goal with time to spare and you will have ensured that WAYO will continue to broadcast throughout 2017.

Stretch Goals

Now that we're this close to the goal, some new destinations have come into view, as you can see above! Here's what each of these stretch goals will mean for you and the station:

What's new in the world of WAYO you may ask? Today is the official launch of our 2016 Kickstarter fundraising campaign! This is a big time of the year for us as the outcome of the campaign ensures the station's financial stability as we enter our second year of broadcasting. Keep reading to find out more about the Kickstarter campaign and other way-out updates.

Help keep the creativity and ideas of the Rochester community on the radio.

Ever wonder why we are considered a “low power” station?

Low power is a special class of radio that is inherently noncommercial and intended to come out of and be responsive to a specific community. WAYO embodies the spirit of low power - we’re a totally grassroots-funded station with 140 volunteers from the Rochester area, and we provide a platform for regional creativity where community members can share their art, music, writing, and more.

WE DID IT!

Supporters of WAYO,

WE DID IT! And we could not have done it without YOU!

With your support we have surpassed our Kickstarter goal of $16,000. The Kickstarter campaign ended at midnight with $17,260. In addition to the proceeds from the Kickstarter campaign, we raised $1,521 from a week of pop-up fundraisers around Rochester that included a clothing swap, concerts, and an open house.
