The State of Illinois may not be every surfers first vacation choice but 63 miles of Lake Michigan coastline offer produce waves reaching 10 feet ( even taller than Robert Pershing Waldon, the world's tallest man born in Alton Illinois on February 22 1918). The state as a whole has been producing great surf and instro bands since the 60s. and bands like The Tiki Cowboys and Alewife are still keeping that tradition of quality today.
