Episode 05: Foodie Holiday Traditions with Jonny Hunter

In this fifth episode of In Mah Mouf, Jonny Hunter joins me from Madison, Wisconsin to discuss the foodie holiday tradition of eating Chinese food on Christmas Day. His restaurant, Forequarter, will be hosting their 4th annual Chinese Food Christmas Dinner this year. The episode starts with a discussion of Tuchman and Levine's (1992) concept of "safe treyf", as well as other factors leading to the embracing of Chinese food by Jewish folks living in NYC before moving into the interview with Jonny and then wrapping up with stories about dinners of Christmas past from Jonny.
