We talk to Paola Betchart from the Center for Worker Justice of New York and Philip Mogavero from the University of Rochester Medical Center Interpreter Services about the necessity of adequate language access for limited-English-proficient people in the US, the legal framework to grant that access, and the challenges along the way. We also share personal stories of when limited language access prevented us from fully participating in high-stakes medical interactions.
