Our little rocket ship (piloted by our very own Wowee the WAYO) is a quarter of the way there!
Which is to say that earlier this week your generous donations pushed our campaign past the $4,000 mark, which is 25% of our $16,000 goal. And we still have a month to go! Please keep spreading the word about the campaign by sharing the Kickstarter link on your social media network of choice, introducing your favorite WAYO show to your friends, or bringing a buddy to one of our local events in December and January.
Speaking of events, our next one is a film screening this Sunday (December 11th) of "Sex and Broadcasting: A Film About WFMU". New Jersey's WFMU is a legendary freeform radio station and the documentary explores the station's history, the personalities that have passed through its doors, and the near impossible odds that need to be overcome to keep listener-supported cutting edge radio on the air. WAYO will be presenting the screening at the Cinema Theater (957 South Clinton Ave in Rochester) at 4pm. There will be a $10 suggested donation for admission.
We'll be in touch with further updates (and more transmissions from Wowee) as the campaign moves along. We've also got something special to announce if it looks like we'll reach our destination early, so watch this space!
