The Pink Door with Rachel McKibbens

Rachel McKibbens swings by the studio to discuss the Pink Door Writing Retreat, which serves to promote community and dialogue for writers currently excluded from the dominant cultural narrative; it actively seeks to bring Black women, women of color, trans women, and gender non-conforming writers / activists / scholars / rebels and regional voices into exchange & engagement with each other to provide a space for mentorship and exploration of ideas while building an active and informed literary community.

About Rachel McKibbens:

Rachel McKibbens is a Chicana writer and two-time New York Foundation for the Arts poetry fellow. She is the co-founder of the Pink Door Writing Retreat and host of the critically acclaimed Poetry and Pie Night reading series. She is the author of three full length-books of poetry, blud (Copper Canyon), Into The Dark & Emptying Field (Small Doggies Press), and Pink Elephant (Small Doggies Press) as well as the chapbook MAMMOTH (Organic Weapon Arts).
