Poet Alicia Hoffman comes by the studio to talk about her bold new book Railroad Phoenix. About Alicia Hoffman:
Alicia Hoffman is a poet, writer and teacher hailing from Pennsylvania and the Finger Lakes region of New York. A graduate of St. John Fisher College, she recieved her MA in English / Creative Writing from SUNY Brockport and her MFA in Poetry at the Rainier Writing Workshop in Tacoma, Washington. She lives in Rochester, New York with her husband, Tim, and their australian cattle dog, Jinx, where she teaches English and Writing at Bishop Kearney High School. Thrice nominated for the Pushcart Prize, her poems have appeared widely in a variety of publications, including Radar Poetry, Word Riot, Tar River Poetry, SOFTBLOW, Redactions: Poetry and Poetics, Camroc Press Review, decomP, Pirene's Fountain, elimae, Innisfree Poetry Journal, A-Minor Magazine, Stone Highway Review, One Throne and elsewhere. Her work has been anthologized in Liberty's Vigil, Poems from the Occupy Movement (Foothills Publishing) and featured in the Poetry Booth outside of Writer's and Books in the Neighborhood of the Arts district of Rochester. She is the author of two poetry collections: Like Stardust in the Peat Moss (Aldrich Press, 2013) and Railroad Phoenix (Kelsay Books, 2017).
