  • BONUS GAME - Straight-Up Vaporwave Aired: Friday, June 17, 2016

An Extra Hour of Sound Test allowed me to go from honing in on Video Game Music that had characteristics of Vaporwave to... Well. Just Vaporwave! This special show showcases マクロスMACROSS 82-99, Chuck Persons aka Oneohtrix Point Never, Saint Pepsi, and of course, the infamous Macintosh Plus. Stay AESTHETIC.

  • Sound Test 12 - VAPORWAVE AESTHETICS Aired: Friday, June 17, 2016

    sᴏᴜɴᴅ ᴛᴇsᴛ 199x ᴏɴ WAY☯-FM

Probably the hardest and most fun show I've put together because Vaporwave is an art and musical movement that hones in on the aesthetics and consumerism of the United States and the Postmodern characteristics of Japanese culture in the 1980s/1980s. This meant cherry picking out this kind of sound from all different eras of Gaming. I also lose my voice which is even more cray. There are some also some light Cyberpunk touches as well. I hope you enjoyed this, and check the additional Vaporwave set I put on the following hour!

  • Sound Test 11 - The Legend of Zelda Aired: Friday, June 3, 2016

"Back then a mean kid came and played a strange song. It messed up this windmill!"

For the first time, Sound Test dedicates an entire show to a game series - The Legend of Zelda! Created by Shigeru Miyamoto and primarily composed by Nintendo veteran Koji Kondo, The Legend of Zelda has captivated us with a timeless story, enticing gameplay, and memorable music for 30 years.

  • Sound Test 9 - Super Nintendo Aired: Friday, May 13, 2016

PLAY IT LOUD! Sound Test brings the Super Nintendo into the spoitlight! This 16-Bit hero uses a sample based approached compared to its synth-heavy rival: The Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Listen in to iconic pieces from Chrono Trigger and Earthbound, veteran composers David Wise, Koji Kondo, and a few surprises as well! The SNES is perhaps my favorite console, so you'll definitely hear me dweebing out. A lot. What else do you expect at this point!

  • Sound Test 8 - More Friday Night Vidya Game Jamz Aired: Friday, May 6, 2016

Another Friday, another fantastic night filled with video game music and chiptunes on Sound Test.

Highlights include Purple Motion aka Jonne Valtonen, Danny Baranowsky, Jasper Byrne, and Toby Fox!

I've been digging the laissez faire approach, so I just curated a playlist perfect for a friday night. Enjoy as always!

  • Sound Test 7 - Friday Night! Aired: Friday, April 29, 2016

Sound Test is now weekly on Fridays at 10pm! Tonight's show goes over a variety of artists and eras, rather than focusing a specific theme or console. Highlights include Jake Kaufman's Shovel Knight, Fearofdark, and Dubmood! Tune in every week from here on out for sweet vidya jams!

  • Sound Test 6 - Commodore 64 Aired: Wednesday, April 20, 2016

One of the fathers of Chiptunes and the Demoscene is finally on Sound Test! Jeroen Tel, Martin Galway, Rob Hubbard, Jonathon Dunn, Fanta, and many more lend their musical talent to push out sick tracks from the Commodore 64! The music scene surrounding this computer is still alive even after 30 years, and the sound it makes is timeless.

FYI: My dorkness is in full form tonight as I struggle to pronounce Ø.

  • Sound Test 5 - Nintendo Entertainment System Aired: Wednesday, April 6, 2016

The 8-Bit Hero of 1980s finally gets its highlight on Sound Test! Listen to songs composed by Koji Kondo and Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka, to tracks that push the console to its very limit from Tim Follin, David Wise, and the many composers of Sunsoft! Be sure to input that Konami Code for extra tracks!!

  • Super Sound Test IV: Arcade Edition Aired: Wednesday, March 23, 2016

Here Comes a New Challenger! Sound Test highlights the best in music from the Arcade! There's so much more than the Pac-Man startup theme! Whether you're Crusin' in OutRun or testing your might in Mortal Kombat, this show is guaranteed to Rank #1.

  • Sound Test 3 & Knuckles - Sega Genesis Highlights Aired: Wednesday, March 9, 2016

Now with Blast Processing! The Sega Genesis is a 16-bit console released in 1989 in the United States.
