An Extra Hour of Sound Test allowed me to go from honing in on Video Game Music that had characteristics of Vaporwave to... Well. Just Vaporwave! This special show showcases マクロスMACROSS 82-99, Chuck Persons aka Oneohtrix Point Never, Saint Pepsi, and of course, the infamous Macintosh Plus. Stay AESTHETIC.

Sound Test 12 - VAPORWAVE AESTHETICS
Aired: Friday, June 17, 2016
sᴏᴜɴᴅ ᴛᴇsᴛ 199x ᴏɴ WAY☯-FM
Probably the hardest and most fun show I've put together because Vaporwave is an art and musical movement that hones in on the aesthetics and consumerism of the United States and the Postmodern characteristics of Japanese culture in the 1980s/1980s. This meant cherry picking out this kind of sound from all different eras of Gaming. I also lose my voice which is even more cray. There are some also some light Cyberpunk touches as well. I hope you enjoyed this, and check the additional Vaporwave set I put on the following hour!

Listen in to iconic pieces from Chrono Trigger and Earthbound, veteran composers David Wise, Koji Kondo, and a few surprises as well! The SNES is perhaps my favorite console, so you'll definitely hear me dweebing out. A lot. What else do you expect at this point!

One of the fathers of Chiptunes and the Demoscene is finally on Sound Test! Jeroen Tel, Martin Galway, Rob Hubbard, Jonathon Dunn, Fanta, and many more lend their musical talent to push out sick tracks from the Commodore 64! The music scene surrounding this computer is still alive even after 30 years, and the sound it makes is timeless.
FYI: My dorkness is in full form tonight as I struggle to pronounce Ø.
