  • FFRW 10 WORK Aired: Tuesday, September 3, 2019

40 hours, what do I live for?
A trailer and a weekend somewhere
Just to be happy and free from doubt
    Situations that we can share
I know you know what we all want
A life of leisure, it's not too much

It's a big job just gettin' by with nine kids and a wife
But I've been workin' man, dang near all my life but I'll keep workin'
Long as my two hands are fit to use

  • FFRW 9 Contracts of Beginners Aired: Tuesday, August 27, 2019
When I was a young girl I used to dream of a lover
To be my shining knight of strength one day
He'd carry me to a castle in the heavens and battle all my dragons on the way

I still have a flame gun for the cute ones, to burn out all your tricks...
And he'd ride down on a great white horse he'd bring me love I was longing for
He'd bring me joy and lasting peace on a great white horse
And I know that in the cold light
There's a very big man leading us into Temptation
    Singing dumb-di-de-dumb-dumb-dumb-di-de-dum

  • FFRW 8 Belleville Rendezvous Side B Aired: Tuesday, August 20, 2019

I won’t be an old man in Singapore playing scrabble and eating petits-fours
I want to be wicked, Utterly wicked, Wicked like the Triplets from Belleville

Swinging Belleville rendez-vous Marathon dancing doop dee doop
Vaudou Cancan balais taboo Au Belleville swinging rendez-vous

  • FFRW 7 Belleville Rendezvous Side A Aired: Tuesday, August 13, 2019

    Techo, tierra, pan, educación
    Salud, libertad
    Democracia, independencia

La piel del jaguar que adornaba
El suelo, hoy es noble armadura
    De mi pueblo

    Como un feroz guerrero
    Defendiendo la tierra, Zapata vive
Y sigue en pie de guerra

    Solo un puñado de hombres
    Dispuestos a morirse
    Por continuar la revolución

A defender la dignidad gritando fuerte
    Tierra y Libertad

    No pasarán de este lugar
La resistencia ni un paso atrás
A defender la dignidad gritando fuerte
    Tierra y Libertad

  • FFRW 6 SONIA Side B Aired: Tuesday, August 6, 2019

    My father, his family
    Struggled through history
    Maintaining their sanity
Wrapped in chains, and in prosperity
And my sons who may be the last
Will excend the standards of the working man
    And tear down the barrier
    That separates the caste

    -The Minutemen

  • FFRW 5 SONIA side A Aired: Tuesday, July 30, 2019

"One of the problems with the idea of addiction is that it is used far too widely and far too loosely, in that it also leaves out the politics. It leaves out the political situation. There are things that are not addictions but that are brainwashing and I think is very important to know the difference."
    -Sonia Johnson

  • FFRW 4 SAMITUVAMcMINNVILLE Aired: Tuesday, July 23, 2019

The first song is by Mari Boine, a Norwegian Sami musician who puts a modern spin on the Yoiks of her native Sami people who live in the Northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. Yoiks are a traditional form of song in Sami music.

The second song is Tuvan Internationale by Huun Huur Tu who are throat singers from the Republic of Tuva which is located in the geographic center of Asia.

The third song is by a band from McMinnville Oregon, where I used to live, called Insofar.

  • FFRW 3 Chanting in Candles and Incense Aired: Tuesday, July 16, 2019
You might not wanna give me the time of day
But I've got your little image on my alter anyway
If I thought love charms and spells would work on you
Chanting in candles and incense would be all I'd ever do
When I see your politely smiling face all my well rehearsed lines vanish without a trace
How can I show you my soft and sinewy grace?
I know I could win you if I could find the time and the place
My Queen, Sweet Queen Turn my milk to cream
  • FFRW 2 Hymns to Her Aired: Tuesday, July 9, 2019

Though Eve was made from Adam's rib
Nine months he lay within her crib
How can a man of woman born
Thereafter use her sex with scorn?
For though we bear the human race
To us is given but second place
And some men place us lower still
By using us against our will
If we choose to walk alone
For us there is no safety zone
If we're attacked we bear the blame
They say that we began the game
And though you prove your injury
The judge may set the rapist free
Therefore the victim is to blame
