It's pretty much a tutorial on how to do good radio today, Space Cadets. We're bringing you some Cliffs Notes on what TO talk about on the radio (vacations you took, your dreams, that really good lunch you had) and what NOT to talk about (anything serious) and you can take those to the bank! Unfortunately, we can't. After some fun vacation chitter chatter, we break right into internet trolling. Not doing it! Just talking about it! Jeesh! We're not total monsters. Well, ok. We ARE. But, really.
Music today from The Veins with "Fallout Shelter."
Yes! it's another DJ show with HZ in the house! She's wearing a top hat and not saying much so let's get to the music, shall we?
Ooh, Space Cadets, do we have a treat for you today! Joining Ross and Heather in the studio is musician, columnist, and (in her own words) magnificent mess Cora Treoir Duncan! We're talking music, trans issues, physics, the multiverse, you name it, and we need to have Cora back again soon because there's so much more to talk about! And more songs to sing and play, as well......
For now, though, how do you like our format changes? We want to know! Drop us a line at jimmyspaceboy@gmail.com or call us up at 585-542-5502!
Goodness. It's our 200th show. What a long, strange, fun trip it's been! Today we're coming at you with some new skits, some good old memories, a few fun songs, and maybe even a little SoT News!
Here's to another 200. Clink!
Music break today from..... ummmmm.......
What's that I hear? Sounds from the Spacebridge? Oh, yes, Space Cadets, we're up in orbit once again and this time, it's HZ and Famous Glass Scientist Jane Cook at the controls! That's right--no Ross today, alas, but he'll be back next week for our big 200th show! In the meantime, Jane and I are talking glass science, throwing stones, houses, gh-gh-gh-gh-ghosts, and did I mention science?
In this exciting 199th installment (ok, we've done a lot more than that but, with our screwy numbering system, it's 199), we're talking flossing follow-up, sex party consent (pro tip: bring a shrimp bouquet as a host gift to your next sex party to start things off on the right foot!), and fooooood. And don't forget: vote The Cocktail Party across the ballot this November!
Today's Sound of Tomorrow is all about listening so lean on in as we... talk.... About listening. Seriously, though, got some cool info from UrbanConfessional.org going on and a little bit of reading fun time, too. Also, Ross might have Zika.
Tune in, won't you?
Music today From Little Jack Melody and His Young Turks: The Last Words of Sigmund Freud (Always Vienna). We dare you to listen without crying.
What what, we got a whole lot of children here lately on the Sound of Tomorrow but also we have yet another great show for YOU! Today we're talking local news, reading time fun time, TEETH, GMOs, and protein shakes, saving the big topic of listening for next week! Listen close for the mad giggling fits.
Music today from Phil Marshall with "Grief Walks In" from his great new album Scatterbed.
You know it's going to be a high energy show when, five minutes before they go one, Heather says to Ross, "I'm so hungry!" and Ross responds with "I'm so tired!" But they pulled it out nevertheless! In today's exciting episode, we have a shout out to our friends Stacey and Cory from Air Wreck Radio (http://airwreckradio.com/), some slam poetry from Heather and her 4th grade class, and lots and lots of science news! If you're squeamish, you might want to skip that last part.....
We're back with the Sound of Tomorrow! In today's exciting episode, we have some Bowie News, a King Tut Update, some fun ideas for getting food out on that table when you're so so busy, and a pretty great discussion about reading. Join us, won't you?
Music help today from The Colorblind James Experience.
