Past Episodes

  • Episode 220: Punching Nazis Aired: Wednesday, January 25, 2017

Space Cadets! Someone left a ukulele at the WAYO office and Heather is not afraid to play it! Ross is, however, afraid she may steal it. To reassure you, she did not. The uke is tuned and back on the shelf. But that doesn't mean mean we're good people! But we're not that bad, either.

  • Episode 219: Cruisin' Aired: Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Ahh, Ross is back in the studio and all is right with the world! We're kicking it off with some vacation chat about the fantastic Star Trek cruise he and Announcer Mike attended and we segue into an interesting and disturbing discussion of Ross's interaction with a not-so-cool Trekkie (his word, not mine. I know to say Trekker!). After the break, we're back to discuss the benefits of diversity in groups. There are lots of benefits, turns out! Makes perfect sense, really.... And we close it up with a quick quiz of my (hi--Heather typing here) vitamin supplement knowledge which is....

  • Episode 218: DJ Blackstar Aired: Wednesday, January 11, 2017

While Ross and Mike have Star Trek adventures on the high seas, DJHZ is at it again, doing what she loves best.... dancing and crying.

January 10th was a day I remained blissfully ignorant of David Bowie's passing. Being on the east coast, I only learned of it on the 11th. In honor of that horrible, heart-wrenching day, I'm bringing you Bowie, Bowie, Bowie.... and some other stuff, too. Thanks for indulging me, Space Cadets.

  • Episode 217: A New Year's Revolution Aired: Wednesday, January 4, 2017

Oooh, Space Cadets, today we're taking our title from Ragan Chastain's recent blog posting of the same name on her excellent site danceswithfat.wordpress.com and we're talking about that blog posting, too! Once we have our revolutions in order, we're onto some civics and philosophy, so much so we have to save our social media news for the next episode! Too much content to cover? I say, yes, please!

Music break today by The Quitters with "That's Cool, That's Trash."

  • Episode 216: The Week Between Aired: Wednesday, December 28, 2016

Hi Space Cadets. HZ here, just finishing up my delicious and nourishing repast of soyloni and spicy cheese spread. Et voila, my compliments to the chef. In today's exciting Sound of Tomorrow, we're starting it off easy listening smooth jazz style with some holiday wrap up and a quick round of mansplaining from Ross. You know how he loves to do that and I think it's pretty cute, really. Once we're warmed up, it's off to the races talking pockets and fake fake news!

  • Episode 213: Lady Business, Part II Aired: Wednesday, December 7, 2016

Space Cadets, remember back in March 2015* when we talked about lady business? Well, we're at it again! I know, I know... like we ever stopped. Anyhow! On today's all new all exciting all ladies all the time Sound of Tomorrow we've got PMS as a cultural malady and the question of popular holiday tune "Baby It's Cold Outside" date-rapey or not. Plus! Live, in studio theatre! You won't want to miss a word.

Music break from They Might Be Giants with "Bills. Bills, Bills."

  • Episode 212: Social Media Aired: Wednesday, November 30, 2016

In this exciting episode of the Sound of Tomorrow, Ross and Heather are talking social media, meditation, and voting. What's that? They promised lady stuff, too? Only so much they can get into in an hour, Space Cadets. Sit tight for next week!
